Help! I Feel Like I'm Eating in My Entryway -- Good Questions

Q: We built a beautiful country "farm house," but made a bad design decision. The front door opens into the hall which flows without interruption into the main part of the house which is the dining area/kitchen/living room. Think of a T shape. It is a straight shot from the front door to dining table (30 feet).
